September 20-26, 2026 marks the first-ever Rural Ontario Week and the Ontario PCs are celebrating the people, businesses and communities that help power our province.
Rural Ontario is a major driver of Ontario’s economy. From agriculture and manufacturing to energy, mining, forestry and tourism, rural communities support 1.2 million jobs and contribute $117.8 billion to Ontario’s GDP.
Home to 2.5 million people and more than 275,000 businesses, rural Ontario is where products are made, resources are developed, businesses grow and workers help build a stronger Ontario.
That’s why our PC team is continuing to invest in the communities that keep our province moving.
Through the $20 million Rural Ontario Development Program, we’re helping attract new investment, support local businesses, create and protect jobs and strengthen local economies across rural Ontario.
During Rural Ontario Week, we’re celebrating everything rural Ontario has to offer, from its hardworking people and thriving businesses to its main streets, trails, parks, festivals and one-of-a-kind destinations.
